WOW! I can't begin to tell you how epic this was. I mean epic in the actual definition of the word. This romance takes place over an extended period of time and a ridiculous amount of trials. Intially I thought this would be cut and dry, Zarya loves Kere, Kere loves Zarya and all will be well. Not the case at all. Things couldn't have gone more wrong and soon I wanted Darling to be with ANYONE but Zarya. I was so angry at her but I was also so angry at her cohorts. I had plenty of Oh. My. God! and gag-worthy moments. A few times I wanted to take SK by the shoulders and say "Really?" and "couldn't you maybe take that down a notch?" but I soldiered on. As the story progressed I started to see shades of Acheron in this tale but it still held its individuality. I will tell you this; if you have not read The League, you should. If you are not generally a SciFi fan, still give it a go. If you are a fan of Dark Hunters/ Acheron, read this. Lastly if you have read this series but have been holding out and are not up to date on this one; GET READING.I will be anxiously anticipating the next book due out this December. ~Michelle

Wow. I was recommended this series by many people but really had no idea what it was about until I read it. I was surprised, this was almost Lora Leigh league erotic romance. The couples in both stories were well written and likable. The men are hot and the women are independent without being too butch. My only issue stems from a common romance related plot line. Why are all women in these books afraid of love? I really don't understand it, honestly. I wish it wasn't used so often in these sort of books because its overdone and really not that believable in my eyes. Really though the scenes were hot, the men hotter and the story was enjoyable. The comedy really helps make it a fun erotic romance.

Pretty good once again. I wasn't that interested in Sissy Mae that much before the book but after I can admit to enjoying it. She was/is pretty hard-hearted but I guess that comes with being an Alpha Female. Mitch was awesome, very light-hearted, the joker. He managed to make the story a lot more fun than I think it would have been otherwise. I think the couple were a fantastic match and complimented each other nicely. We also had updates on some former couples and introductions to some new. I can see this series going on for some time still. I am anxious to read some more.

Beast Behaving Badly ~V^^^^^V
By far and away my favorite in this series. Blayne has the personality of what I imagine is almost any dog. Her attention span is null, everyone loves her instantly and she is just go go go. I can see why one character called her "TeaCup". Bo cracks me up with his OCD. He is SO completely into routine, schedules and cleanliness that I couldn't imagine how the couple would work. The journey to making it work was awesome. I loved the two of the together, the compromises and the fact that NO ONE else would work for either of them. I hope the next book is as good as this one.

Big Bad Beast ~V^^^^V
This book got me right at prologue but then it petered off. I ended up really enjoying it but it got a little long and confusing in the middle. My issue was with Ric and Dee-Ann, I loved them but Dee-Ann got on my nerves some. She was just so impersonal it was hard to like her. Together they are excellent and the plot carried a lot of interesting twists. I was a touch confused by all the names, I may have read this out of order, I am not sure. It seemed like there were a lot of players, so many names that I was pretty confused throughout the middle of the book. I can tell you though that I did really enjoy this one and am anxious to continue this series.


Bear Meets Girl ~V^^^V
Lou and Marcella are pretty amusing together. I loved when he found out who her family was. He was a major fan of her father and actually hers ass well. They make a great team when investigating and Marcella is a riot when she is busy teasing Lou. Overall I gave this an average rating because its not my favorite but I really did enjoy it nonetheless.

I really enjoyed this book. The two main characters have excellent chemistry. Zach Sheridan has intentions of becoming pack alpha but he needs to take care of a few things first. Sara Morrighan is terrible crippled and has no clue about what is really going on around her. I found her transition fairly believable and a whole lot of fun. I am anxious to see how the rest of these books shake out.

The main characters were extremely amusing together. The use of the nickname Hillbilly was outrageous and the woman was straight up nuts. I didn't understand what drew Nik and Angelina to one another but they were a dynamic pair to read about. There wasn't any major climatic issues involving danger or conspiracies it was just a genuine, amusing, sexy paranormal romance. I liked this one quite a bit.





Miss Congeniality in When He Was Bad ~V^^V
Let me explain. It's not that the story was bad. It really had some exceptional steam and some hilarious scenes. Van was a fabulous character, he is so sure of himself and his sexiness. It's Irene. She is awful. Completely unlikable, she has no endearing qualities and to be honest I really didn't want her to get a HEA. She was unjustly mean to Van and why a future alpha would put up with it is beyond my understanding. I just don't buy it. If there were a more likable female lead I think I would have given this story a 4 star at least. ~Michelle

This was an interesting and steamy story. I liked both characters and the whole Norse mythology angle. Nothing much to say about it other than is had all the things we have come to love about Shelly Laurenston's stories. The humor was there and the steam was high.  ~Michelle 

The Lady is a Vamp by Lynsay Sands

This is so far my favorite new release of the year. Jean Louis is a beloved, long running character in the series, therefore we had a long wait to get to her story. I loved the way Lynsay Sands set this romance up. The concept was very new to the series and a breath of fresh air. Paul is a desperate father and a really genuine good guy, if you set aside the fact that he originally kidnaps Jean Louis with nefarious intentions. The characters a likable, believable, well developed and conflict is fantastic. I just really, really enjoyed this book and of course recommend you read this whole series. ~Michelle

Here are a few more classics I have read and enjoyed recently. These are both H.G. Wells classics.

The War of the Worlds ~V^^^^^V

An incredible Sci Fi tale, told so well you can almost believe it really happened. The graphic portrayal of an Alien invasion, this one being from Martians, is nothing short of plausible. The scientific foresight and astronomical information made it outstanding. The only thing that I could say I didn't love was the era. Which is beyond ridiculous as it was written as contemporary at its time. I am just not all that into older time periods. But seriously this book was told so damn well I can't find words to explain my excitement. I think I will be adding The Island of Dr. Moreau to my tbr pile.

The Time Machine ~V^^^^V

AMAZING! I would like to say this book is ahead of its time but I suspect that Scientists are just stealing from it. I have heard that this book is a social commentary on how the world could be if we don't stop what we are doing as humans. However I believe it is merely an amazing story written by someone with an equally amazing imagination. The story as a whole is not only very well written, it is also completely believable if you just try. LOVED IT! Honestly I better look into some other classic SciFi books.  ~Michelle

A Game of Thrones ~V^^^^^V
I will admit that I was drawn to this series because of the HBO series. I was drawn to that just because of all the talk. This book was by far one of the most interesting Fantasies I have ever read. I was hooked from the first sentence and gripped the whole way through. So much so that I immediately began the second book in the series. I was surprised how closely the television series followed the books and thus I am very excited that I don't have to wait for the next season to continue the story. =) All of the characters are wonderfully developed, the story is graphically told, and as a whole it is above and beyond much that I have read to date. I am amazed that George R.R. Martin has no fear with his characters, some of which will shock and appall you. So far I love and hate a great deal of them, I am just so anxious to see what will happen next. Definitely a recommend, you should read this series!


A Clash of Kings ~V^^^^V
Another excellent story, though I have to say WOW, these are long. I have taken issue with a few characters at this point and I am also rooting for several. I am anxious to continue this saga and see will happen with all of this players. Honestly I won't be surprised if many more people are killed, Martin seems to have no fear when it comes to elimination of characters, no matter how important they may seem.


A Storm of Swords ~V^^^^V
My goodness this was a LONG book. It was really good though. Seemed to keep me interested the whole time. Finally there was a measure of redemption but so little so late. I am still at a complete loss as to who I am rooting for and who is this series really about. I start liking one character and then things change and I find another. I will continue to read because I am just so hooked and am hoping that some really truly bad people get whats coming to them and so others redeem themselves. Though I have to say I am too overwhelmed with the shear volume of the tale that I am going to take a couple days rest before I start up again.

It was cheesy full of ridiculous humor. I enjoyed it like I would any stupid comedy movie I have seen in the past. It's not serious so don't go into it expecting that. It was a fun time killer, nothing more. ~Michelle

I have been doing some classics lately, and in this case, VERY classic. I can see why this is one of the best known poems of all time. WOW it is long first of all. I am gathering that who your family was, was extremely important in this era. Hell I think titles seemed pretty damn important. Reading this I kept thinking, this seems like a man's story, you know war and all. Really though this was a very intriguing epic tale of war, the men who fought it, how the fought and why. I am going to read the Odyssey soon, I am really enjoying Homer. ~Michelle

Well a big space geek like myself would find this book fascinating. While someone a little less interested in scientific space knowledge may become bored. I was completely flabbergasted by the amount of research that clearly went into this book. The basic knowledge of main spacial math, processes, and distances made this book an amazing SciFi read. So much of the data is still applicable today, it is just amazing. I guess other than gushing over and over again I will just say; if you have not read this classic yet, I would recommend it. You know, if you are into that sort of thing. ~Michelle


Side note:  The original Stanley Kubrick film adaption of this movie was just plain bizarre!

What happened to one of my favorite series? Maybe I have just grown up and Betsy hasn't. I love MaryJanice, her references to Minnesota, are all things that I can relate too. She has me cracking up all the time. Lately however I haven't cared for the books as much. Ever since I read that Epilogue a few books back something has been off. I feel like she is just trying to buy our love back. Basically nothing happened in the majority of this book. Betsy spent 200+ pages getting side tracked and eventually taking care of one problem, am making countless more in the process. I am going to hold out hope that this series will redeem itself still. ~Michelle

I hope to review this whole series soon. I have a few other things on my plate right now but just as soon as I can I will give you my thoughts on the rest of this series, for now here is book 1. 

I liked it and am anxious to continue with the series. However I can't go above 3 stars because I felt like most of this book was an info dump. Now don't get me wrong I completely understand the need to set up the world, explain the aliens and the bad guys. That was not my issue, I do feel like I have a through understanding and I assume the information won't repeat in the next book, or at least not to the same detail. I just felt like it took to much from the action of the story. When the action happened it was intense, detailed and fantastic. It should be fun reading where "Kitty" goes from here, for which I am anxious to begin. ~Michelle

Iris and Cal were fun. While there was obviously a situation to be resolved I felt as though the mystery took a backseat to the romance. It was a nice romance as well. Iris is a young adult orphan who is raising her teenage sister in her parents home and trying to run a home business. She works closely with many of the vampires we have already met and though rarely interfaces with them she still is known to them all. Cal is a relatively new character but he soon becomes just like another of the family. I liked the character development, the pace of the romance and the back story as well. Once again I think Molly Harper has done it. I am anxious to see what else is happening Half Moon Hollow. ~Michelle

I was very excited to find that Thierry and Sarah had another book. I recalled enjoying the previous books, back a few years ago. I was grateful for the refresher though, as I have read so many books since I was suffering from some confusion. Michelle was able to get me back up to speed without bogging down the book so that was a plus. I have to say though that after reading, I am trying to remember why I like Sarah before? Honestly the woman is insanely naive and far too accident prone. Though I think that has much more to do with her lack of foresight. I actually found it rather annoying this time and was pretty bummed out that it took so long to solve the mystery, as I had a good idea who it was pretty early on. Second complaint is that this book really made Thierry look like an ass. I think I recall not really caring for his choices before but this book left me wondering why Sarah puts up with him? Apparently everyone else sees it. Then again her so called BFF, had no time for her either. I guess I gave this book 3 stars because it just made me feel sad for Sarah more than anything. ~Michelle

REALLY LONG READING HIATUS!

Got caught up with a whole lot of reading and mainly just series. I was hesitant to post every review of every book in the series I was doing so I wanted to hold out until I was done or dang near. That said I think I am about ready to put some reviews up of Shelly Laurenston books. Soon enough I will do the Song of Fire and Ice Series by George R.R. Martin which I have only two books left to complete. I also am currently working my way through Women of the Otherworld by Kelley Armstrong. I have to say that all of these series are high star ratings from me. Please stay tunes I promise I won't leave you all hanging for months again. In the meantime I have a few New Releases that I have read and reviewed as well as this month's Reading Challenge, October Ops, I will put all my reviews up there for inspection as well. This is one of my favorite picks for a monthly group read. I love me some Ops. =) We will continue to do Tasty Tuesday of course and anyone is welcome to participate in Friday 56!  Hang in there you all I have SO much to tell you. Starting... Fear the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy

The romance was cute and the sex was steamy, the storyline has really progressed and as a whole the series is moving forward. I liked how many of the previous characters were involved and we were able to catch up with everyone. My only real issue with the book is Caine, himself. I just never liked him and therefore I was having a real issue trying to care. I knew going in that it was going to be a challenge so I was interested to see if it would work. What I can say is in the end, I still don't care for him. I didn't really care if he and Cassie were together or not. The rest of the story was interesting and the introduction of a new villain will help move the series forward from here. ~Michelle

Elite Ops by Lora Leigh ~V^^^^^V

I don't even know where to begin. This series has not ONLY delicious heros, amazing heriones, and fantastic action it also has intense Lora Leigh classic love scenes. This books are STEAMING hot. If you are familar with Lora Leigh's Breeds, her Nauti boys or her Tempting SEALs then you will love these. Elite Ops is a continuence of her SEALs series, you will recognize some of the characters from previous series and meet some new ones. This is at the VERY top of my favorite books pile. I am definitely reading along with you all one this one. ~Michelle
