Riding Temptation by Jaci Burton

Jessie had the most beautiful legs, tanned, toned from her hard workouts in the gym. He worked his way back up by sliding his hands over the soft skin of her ankles, her calves, her thighs, moving to the edge of the bed to spread her legs apart, to inspect the tiny scrap of her panties, the only item of clothing she still wore.
“This isn’t quite fair,” she said, sounding a bit breathless.
“What isn’t?”
“You still have all your clothes on.”

Spotlight Monday

Today's spotlight is going to be on Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse aka True Blood series. If you haven't read these yet, I'm really wondering why. It's full of characters you love and others you love to hate. Adventures and home in a small town. It has a little bit of everything for someone who loves a fun paranormal with continuing main characters. If you've been following HBO's True Blood, but have not read the series yet, be warned. They don't really follow each other. Personally, I like the series much much better. But it's nice to see the eye candy instead of just imagining what they look like. :) Below is the review we did on the series and I do hope you go and grab yourself a copy!

Sookie Stackhouse: Southern Vampire by Charlaine Harris
~ V^^^^V
In a little town called Bon Temps, Louisiana, you will find a sexy blond waitress, who just happens to be able to read peoples minds. I say people, because she can’t read the minds of vampires and is hazy with Shapeshifters and Weres. You will read about her adventures of being thrown into the world of vampires in a way she never imagined, or even wanted. Fall in love with her as she goes through the craziness life throws at her with her boyfriend, Bill, and later Eric. This is a fun, witty and sexy read that I have enjoyed many times over and I’m sure you will, too!

Tempting The Beast by Lora Leigh

By the time the tests were completed, Merinus was nearly in pain, the arousal was hitting her so hard again. She could feel the moisture glazing her inner thighs, the heat and need building in her cunt like a volcano preparing to erupt. The pressure was tremendous. But on top of that was another problem. As hours ticked by, Sherra and the doctor both began to wear steadily on her nerves. Or more to the point, the touch of their hands, even protected by the latex gloves, did. It made her literally sick to her stomach, made her skin crawl, made her want to shrink from them as they came near her.

Spotlight Monday

Today's spotlight is going to be on Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series. There are currently 8 books out, with the most recent, The Darkest Secret, just released last month. The 9th installment, The Darkest Surrender, is due out in July of this year. I've really covered it pretty well in the review below, so please...please! go out and buy it, check it out from your local library, borrow from a friend, I don't care how, but get it and read it! I have complete faith that you will find it as awesome as we have!

Lords Of The Underworld by Gena Showalter
~ V^^^^^V
Oh. Dear. God. If you haven’t read this series, you really are missing out on a fantastic and sexy as hell read! The Lords are a group of warriors who were protectors to the gods and who, also, aided in opening Pandora’s Box. Their punishment for opening the box was to house an escaped demon within themselves. Escaping the union only when dealt the hand of death. Set in Budapest, this team of deliciously lickable warriors are caught up in a fight for survival with their sworn enemy, the Hunters. Meanwhile they, each in turn, find themselves faced with the love’s of their lives. Not usually an easy pairing, but one that will make them stronger in the end. And in a war, strength is everything. A little help from the gods never hurt anything either. I don’t have enough fangs to truly do this series justice! Please give it a shot. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

Sweet Possession by Maya Banks

“So if she’s doing it either way, it makes no sense not to
tell her what’s going on. At least then she might adopt a little
self-preservation. Especially if you aren’t going to cancel a
public appearance that most definitely puts her at risk.”

Monday Spotlight!

Racking my brain trying to think... "who do I love that, I don't hear mentioned all that often?" Decided to check the reviews I have done in the past and there it was... Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill TA DA! Now this series is not to serious and not too light. A little romance, a little adventure and a whole lot of finding your place in the world when you no longer really know what that place is. Book 4 Hard Bitten is due to be released 5/3/11 and Book 5 Drink Deep is out 11/1/11. Can't wait to see what else is in store for the Chicagoland Vampires.

Our review: Merit was a graduate student until a rogue vampire nearly killed her. Thankfully, head of Cadogan House, Ethan Sullivan, saved her life by turning her. However, life isn’t all fun and games as a new vampire. She's now under house rule and finds her career path completely changed. Not to mention her attraction to the “Master” himself. What will she do? Chicagoland Vampires series follows the main character Merit, as told by her, as she adjusts to her new life as a Vampire. Fairly light hearted and not afraid to make a little fun of itself this is an enjoyable series.

Dead End Dating by Kimberly Raye

A funny feeling wiggled up my spine. A familiar feeling.
Realization slammed into me like a bus with bad brakes. "You're the one who's been following me," I blurted. "It was you."

Monday Spotlight!!!

Love at Stake by Kerrelyn Sparks~ V^^^^V

This highly addictive paranormal romance series with a sprinkling of humor is a must read. Kerrelyn Sparks paranormal world parallels our own without notice. The majority of the series revolves around Romatech Industries, run by Roman Draganesti the creator of synthetic blood. The majority of the vampire world is grateful for the simplicity, though the malcontents would prefer that vampires stick to the standard diet of human blood. Needless to say there is conflict, strife and the general distaste for one another's life style. It is not all battles in this series though. There is a lot of humor, very likable characters and beautifully written romances.
Book 10 “Vampire Mine” was just released last Tuesday, March 29th.

Don't forget we have a link to the free ebook; the first book in the series "How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire" on the left sidebar.

PLAY DIRTY Lorie O’Clare

Play Dirty Lorie O'Clare ~V^^V

The first in her Bounty Hunters Series, Play Dirty is about; Greg King and his estranged wife, Haley. She left her family 6 years ago to enter the witness protection program only to find that now they are the only ones who can help her now. I found the back story heart breaking so I was invested there and while I found that the action was plenty full I felt that it either drag along or made leaps which I found frustrating to say the least. Greg King is a very likable character and I enjoyed that he grew through out the tale to become a much more understanding husband. Haley on the other hand just never really grew. I found her intelligence and understanding of her job inspiring but over all I just felt she was rather selfish and made no real efforts to improve the relationship with her family. But personal feeling aside the story itself was well written and had all the right ingredients but just didn’t really pop for me. ~Michelle

Lover Unleashed JR Ward

Lover Unleashed Book 9 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward. ~V^^^^^V

OK, I have say as a sidebar that I was not in love with the previous 3 books. I lean more towards Romance while Pamela leans more towards Urban Fantasy. That said I felt that Lover Enshrined, Lover Avenged and Lover Mine all leaned more toward Urban Fantasy and further out of the original Romance Genera. So with that said I was excited about the next installment in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series but kind of put it on the back burner. Though I have to say that lasted all of half of release day. By early afternoon I had gone ahead and started it. So without further a due my thoughts and opinions:

J.R. Ward definitely got her groove back I think, or maybe it was just that this book brought back many of the previous character and the interplay was intense. The drama absolutely sucked me immediately in and I was hard pressed to put the book down. The book being very heavy on V, Jane and Butch really helped work the newer characters in. Honestly I think I was more interested in the side stories and character interplay than the true main characters of the book. For me it almost seemed that the story of Manny and Payne was almost secondary to everyone else; which is fine. It was interesting and well told but a little light on the details. Over all though I would say that this book it definitely a major must read as soon as possible. I have found my lover of the Black Dagger Brotherhood once and again and am already anxious for the net installment. ~Michelle

TEEHEE!!!

The Darkest Secret Gena Showalter

"Her skin, cool and soft. Her scent, so earthy. He could hear the rasp of her next exhalation…focused on the chilly breath wafting over him…allowed his demon to reach out… Colors exploded, chasing away the black. Suddenly images began to take shape. He saw a sky of the brightest azure, a lush green meadow, untouched by time. A scattering of silver stones. Trees missing their leaves, but with sleek, twisted branches. Two little girls running and laughing, playing chase, both wearing lovely pink linen robes, flaxen curls streaming behind them. Sisters. Both possessed hearts practically bursting with love.

Secrets purred in delight."
