A Fistful of Charms by Kim Harrison ~V^^^V
Nick is an ass. Jenks' kid followed the ass and now is in trouble. So Rachel and a super sized Jenks road trip to save him. Trouble follows, of course. There is plenty of character developments, relationship changes and the usual Rachel Morgan dilemmas. Where fans of the first 3 books are starting to find the series lacking I am finding it improving. But clearly I tend to buck the trend in my book opinions, so what I like most do not and visa versa. ~Michelle

The Darkest Seduction Reviewed
The Darkest Seduction By Gena Showalter (Lords of the Underworld #9) ~V^^^^V
I will not do spoilers so that you can read it all unhampered. I will tell you however my thoughts.
First of all Gena's note at the front of the book pretty much covered it. Paris has had a pretty rough go of it in this series and clearly there was a lot of ground to be covered. Therefore this book was pretty long but at no point would I say it was boring. The beginning of the story is pretty dark, as you have read to this point Paris is in a bad why. I felt a little put off from him at the start but as soon as Sienna made an appearance things really started moving along. The couple had a lot issues and seemed to almost avoid them. So I wondered if this book would be all fluff. Never fear there is so much going on that it is a page turner. There were major many plot developments with other characters, which kept me hooked. In fact one of my thoughts was that this series seems to have taken on an Urban Fantasy flair merely because of all of the side stories. This can only be a good thing, in my opinion. Now as to the happy ending, I can honestly say I really did not see that coming. I loved the ending and can't wait to see what happens with Kane, Legion, William, Gilly and those others I don't want to give away yet. HAPPY READING! ~Michelle

Driving Mr. Dead by Molly Harper~ V^^^^V
Miranda Puckett is a free spirit. Well in a way. She likes to stumble through life trying out different paths. She has had many a job and not many last long. Probably because she seems to have a little black cloud hanging over her head. The damnedest things seem to happen to her all the time. Miranda needs a break from her fiance to decide what to do about their relationship. Enter Collin Sutherland, an uptight stick in the mud with a complete lack of person skills; clearly old Vampire. So how do you get away from your over bearing boyfriend on a break? Well Miranda is trying her hand at being a Vampire chauffeur, her first client, Collin. He and his precious black case must be driven across the country. From the start he is a pain in the read, he is full of rules, and ridiculous demands. Mix in Miranda's stroke of back luck and you have a hilarious Road Trip with a vampire twist. Oh and don't forget a little romance on the side.
I enjoyed this book. It was a nice little time filler while I was waiting for the next Jane Jameson. Speaking of Jane, it was nice to have this story set in the same "world" with the same rules and characters. Heck there was even a visit by a favorite, but you will have to read yourself to find out who. ~Michelle

Midnight Pleasures~ V^^^^V
What I liked about this one? Can you guess? Dark Hunters; this is a very early in the series novella, and once again I think it is necessary to follow the series and REALLY enjoy it you need to read them all, in order. Ronda Thompson's story is very good again; and can you ever really go wrong with Maggie Shayne and Amanda Ashley? Add this to your Anthology pile. ~Michelle

UGH, the Wizard! So annoying. I understand that addicts have a whole thing going on in their heads BUT being that I am not nor have I ever been an addict, I found the whole thing annoying. I think I spent most of this book wanting to slap Phury. Just STOP. Obviously Phury could not hold a book on his own, thank goodness there are so many other "people" involved. In the meantime there are some other side stories that kept me interested. The Chosen was kind of boring as well. The first time I read this book I HATED it. I did a reread and saw that it wasn't as bad the second time through BUT I will tell you this is my least favorite in the series. ~Michelle

The Hollows Book 3 Reviewed
Every Which Way But Dead by Kim Harrison~ V^^^V Meeting new characters, check. Finding out a little back story on Trent, check. The continued struggle with Ivy's needs, check. Seeing Rachel reap some of her karma, check. More character driven plot, check. While I can say that this book really didn't offer any major plot advancements it finally seemed to get me interested. Mind you if not for constant badgering from friends I would not have gotten this far. That does not bode well for the series in my opinion. I am hoping this will continue to improve with the next book. ~Michelle

The Hollows Book 2 Reviewed
The Good, The Bad, and the Undead by Kim Harrison~ V^^^V
Well lets see, I read this book again because SO many people love this series. It was a group read on my blog as well. After book one taking me FOREVER to read I really did not want to read this one. I will tell you right off I am NOT one of the Kim Harrison minions. To be honest even after this book I don't really see the appeal. However as the story goes I will say that it seems to be improving. There was a touch of romance in there, which for me is important, though I am not convinced I really like Nick. It seems like Rachel, Ivy and Jenks are starting to get comfortable but at the same time it does seemed strained. If nothing else I will keep reading just to see how the characters all continue to develop. ~Michelle

Woohoo another Dark Hunter Novella. So fun. Beyond that I have to say once again I enjoyed the L.A. Banks novella WAY more than the series, perhaps the full stories were way too long for my tastes. The Susan Squires Companion story was excellent as Ronda Thompson's story. Overall this is up there on my list of favorite Anthologies. ~Michelle

Cadence Jones Review
As the newest installment is set to be released later this month (Yours, Mine, and Ours 2/28) I thought I would give you my reviews to this point.
Outta The Bag by Maryjanice Davidson (Cadence Jones Prequel) ~V^^^V
This prequel will make absolutely NO sense to anyone who has not read the first book. It's a prequel that really needs to be read AFTER you know the characters. In fact the first book in the Cadence Jones series takes awhile to follow as well. So be warned. Being someone who read the first book (after I read this prequel) I can tell you that I like the story. It's rather silly and to some perhaps offensive? I don't get to wound up about those kinds of things so I took that book as it was intended. Kind of fun, kind of silly and overall MEMORABLE. So to this prequel I give an average rating and suggest you read. Me, Myself and Why?
My, Myself and Why? by Maryjanice Davidson (Cadence Jones #1) ~V^^^^V
Well, what to say? To be honest, I grabbed this book just because I LOVE Maryjanice Davidson, she is a local author for me and I like reading about local sights. So going into this all I had for a point of reference was "Outta the Bag" a prequel, freebie Nook book. And at that I was lost, but what the hell let's just go for it. Now as Cadence is one of a Triad of Multiple personalities I found the story, at least in the beginning, a bit hard to follow. After a bit I started to get the flow and was finding that I liked all the personalities for their own individual reasons. But on to the plot, I find the premise, though unlikely still a interesting concept and the story itself did move along believably. In the end I was as surprised as the next reader as to whom the Threefer Killer was and enjoyed the search. So what can I tell you as a reader? I would say go ahead and give it a try. Not to serious, not to light and memorable as can be once the story is done. ~ Michelle

Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison Review
Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison~ V^^^V
I thought on this one for many months and have concluded that I can say I liked it, not loved it but it was OK. While this first book in the Hollows series was a little difficult to get into I understand it was really set up for the remainder of the series. In this one we meet many of the key players and are subject to the start up of Rachel's own business. There is a lot of information to understand so at times it was a bit slow. In the long run I now understand how necessary it was to explain. ~Michelle

Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews~ V^^^V
Wow, so many things happened in this book I don't know where to begin. It started off with a bang when Julie runs away from school, again. From there the crap just keeps rolling downhill. As I have reported in the previous reviews, I am not a big fan of this series but it seems to be growing on me. As the story finally seems to have some character situations beyond just Kate I feel like there is something for me to actually can from it. This book had plenty of action and emotion. Some interesting new developments with Kate's business and a return of her missing BFF. I hope that this series continues to improve. ~Michelle

Lover Unbound (BDB #5) Review
Lover Unbound ~V^^^^^V
Vishous, wow what a story. This book was so frustrating and heartbreaking. I wanted to like V, I wanted to hate him, I wanted to slap him. This book had so much going on and so many revelations, premonitions, changes, and deaths. Yes I said deaths, but I won't tell you who. This is the point when this series really starts to become more of an Urban Fantasy than a Romance series but that is not a bad thing. I will tell you that if you haven't started this series yet, what is the hold up? Get reading, make sure you read this series from the beginning, stick with it. There are a few rough spots but stick it out and you will be rewarded. ~Michelle

Damn near impossible to put down! So much action, so many intriguing developments, ugh I can't wait for the next one! OK details, hmmmm. Well we get to meet the new Fox shifter and then some. :-O The relationship between Hawke and his animal is just the tip of the iceberg. It was emotional ride. Honestly I think I will add this series to me owned list. ~Michelle

Stroke of Midnight Anthology Review~ V^^^^^V
Another 5 fang rating. Dark Hunter short stories get me every time, I think I could read 4 a day. LOL I also really liked Lori Handeland's Night Creatures series, I discovered them through anthologies like this one. My only complaint is Vampire Huntress Legends, I know there are a lot of L.A. Banks fans out there but I just could NOT get into this series. No matter how many times I tried it just never happened. I did like the novellas in fact because of them I sought out the rest of the series but sadly I was unable to complete it. Maybe I will try again someday. ~Michelle

Hunger Untamed by Pamela Palmer
Feral Warriors Book 5 ~Hunger Untamed by Pamela Palmer ~V^^^^V
I didn't like this one quite as much as some of the others but I think that was just because I was having a little difficulty following the linas. It was a little odd but I think I may have come across them in a previous novella. Anyway Kougar and Ariana, Queen of the linas, have a history that left them both heartbroken. The journey back to each other is fraught with pain, sadness, anger and of course evil. In the end is a wonderfully tragic story that will keep you engrossed and turning the pages. ~Michelle

Rapture Untamed by Pamela Palmer
Feral Warriors Book 4- Rapture Untamed by Pamela Palmer V^^^^V
This might come off harsh but here goes. This is pretty much a Feral Warriors version of Zsadist from Black Dagger Brotherhood. If you loved Z, then you will like Jag. If you aren't a huge Z fan then you will most likely not really give a hoot about this book. I have read plenty of reviews that said Jag was an ass, I never got that. Perhaps I am just familiar with the story and assumed it was justifiable. To be honest though he never came off cruel in my eyes. *shrug* This story was a kinky, quick read. The characters were both interesting and I figure they deserved one another. For me these "troubled" alpha stories can be shortened a lot by avoiding dragging on and on and on, the misunderstandings, this book was a fast enough read that I didn't have that problem. ~Michelle

Darker After Midnight Review
Darker After Midnight (Midnight Breed #10) by Lara Adrian ~V^^^^^V
WOW! This book was crazy good. My ONLY complaints are that the end seemed to really be an ending. Without the author's note at the end I would have guessed it was over, at which point I would have bawled. Second I just wanted to slap Lucan. I got tired of reading about his guilt and worry over carrying the world on his shoulders alone. It got tiresome in his book and I started to get annoyed with him all over again here. Now what I liked!!! I was never much of a Chase fan so Lara had her work cut out for her, in my opinion. I can say that I really enjoyed getting to know him and Tavia was SO cool once everything sorted out. So many amazing things happened, I literally said "WHAT?!?" out loud when reading. I had trouble putting it down so I could got to work and the whole time I was away I kept wondering what would happen next. Honestly there were so many revelations and changes it was fun trying to keep up. Truth be told this may be my favorite to date. I am anxious to read what new things will come to in the next books. I am also thrilled to find out the contract was extended for 3 more books. YAY! ~Michelle

A Little Something Different -PART 1
Sometimes I read a few books that interest me but are not the norm for this blog. I thought I would let you all see what other books I have read and liked. Perhaps you will give them a try too.
Orbit: NASA Astronauts Photograph the Earth~ V^^^^^V
Amazing photos, very interesting facts and an overall very fabulous book. Definitely recommend to NASA fans and space junkies like me. ~Michelle
11 Planets: A New View of the Solar System by David Aguilar ~V^^^V
A little outdated by the time I read it and yes it is a reference books for kids. BUT having been so many years since I have been in a Science class I felt the need for a refresher. I LIKED IT. ~Michelle
13 Planets: The Lastest View of the Solar System by David Aguilar~ V^^^V
An updated version of the previous book 11 planets. Again this is a Children's reference book but it was insightful. Since the exploration into space is very liquid with new discoveries everyday I expect there will be another update soon. ~Michelle
The Planets by Dava Sobel V^^^^^V
I LOVED this book. Dava uses uses Astrology in such a fun way to shed insight into our Solar System. This book just hit the nail on the head for me. I have loved the night stars and the stories of the constellations since I was a child and this wove it perfectly for me. So man y facts presented in a manner that I found extremely interesting and not boring as some Scientists are want to do. ~Michelle
Chinese Mythology by Owen Giddens ~V^^^V
Perfect for what I was after. I wanted a basic over view of some of the more common Chinese Mythology; I got that and some very interesting paintings. An excellent handy little reference book for any who have the curiosity. ~Michelle
Favorite Greek Myths by Mary Pope Osborne ~V^^^^V
I LOVE GREEK Mythology! This was a fabulous Children's reference book, a lot of basic information in a shortened form. I used this as a refresher for myself and for a introduction to my kids. Only problem is some of the names were in their Roman version. ~Michelle
Chinese Mythology by Claude Helft ~V^^^V
Another great Chinese Mythology pocket reference book. I used this as a back up to the other book. Double checking stories and find a few that were a little more in depth. ~Michelle

Paenther's turn and he starts out in quite the predicament. Captured and tortured by a Mage, he has nothing but hatred for them. However Palmer seemed to think that would make him a perfect pair for, you guessed it, a Mage. This book was intense, there were many emotional issues for Paenther to deal with. Skye also has her own set of issues. She seems to mousy for Paenther or perhaps she is the perfect match to his intense persona.
On a side note, if I read one more review of people complaining about character names and saying that they are "cheesy" or ridiculous because a letter was added to the name; I WILL SCREAM! Seriously coming up with names is not that easy and if you are only interested in all your characters being named; Bob, Jim, John and Joe then QUIT READING PARANORMAL GENRE.
Sorry just had to get that off my chest. ~Michelle

Feral Warriors Book 2 -Obsession Untamed by Pamela Palmer Feral Feburary Reviews ~V^^^^V
Hmmm, well I was really wanting things to work out for Tighe after the first book so I was excited to read him next. Not to mention the whole cliff hanger situation at the end of the last book. Delany was pretty good, I mean some overly aggressive "I can do it all myself" women annoy me. That said she wasn't too bad and the relationship was entertaining to read, I was also interested to see how Pamela would handle the "human vs feral". Again I will tell you this is one of my favorite erotic paranormal romance series. It hooks you right in and before you know it the book is done. How did that happen? ~Michelle
Hmmm, well I was really wanting things to work out for Tighe after the first book so I was excited to read him next. Not to mention the whole cliff hanger situation at the end of the last book. Monday Spotlight: Dead After Dark Anthology
DEAD AFTER DARK~ V^^^^^V
Highest Review Rating Possible!
YAY, a secreted away BDB story, while a little different and not actually involving any of the brothers "Son's" story was excellent. What else? Another Susan Squires Companion short story, I really liked that series. Sherrilyn Kenyon has a Were-Hunter short in here and her often times companion Diana Love contributes an excellent story as well. This is probably my favorite anthology to date. ~Michelle

Desire Untamed by Pamela Palmer Review
Feral Warriors Book 1- Desire Untamed by Pamela Palmer
Feral February Reminder ~V^^^^V
I was roughly familiar with the storyline of this series from reading an Anthology with a Feral Warriors novella in it. Obviously it warranted father review. So what can I say about this first book? Well it adequately set up the "world" and story without being too tedious. The characters are well written and obviously balance a line between good and evil (or is it good and feral?) that leaves things not as cut and dry as one would expect. I enjoyed this book quite a bit and recommend you get reading. ~Michelle

Crave J.R. Ward Reviewed
Crave by J.R. Ward~ V^^V
Book two in the Fallen Angels series, it really didn't do much for me. It was just kind of blah. I was half expecting the end but still surprised when it came to pass. I would overall say that while I will continue with this series I won't rush. ~Michelle

Bridal Jitters by Jayne Castle Review
Bridal Jitters by Jayne Castle~ V^^^V
A nice short introduction to Harmony and Ghost Hunters. The series as a whole can be a little difficult to follow if you grab a book to far in. However I think that Jayne does a good job of catching everyone up to the concepts and general differences between Harmony and Earth. I enjoyed the series, and this Novella wasn't to rushed and was just the right length for a quick read. A would call it a fitting glimpse, to help you decide to proceed with them all. ~Michelle

Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews Reviewed
Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews~ V^^^^V
Finally I am hooked. Up until this book I was kind of half in and half out of this series. I am a HUGE romance gal so this one finally got me hooked. The relationship advancements between Curran and Kate kept me captivated and on the edge of my seat. I was also excited to learn some more of Kate's family history and meet some of her relatives. WHOA, and you thought your family was bad. LOL Can't wait to start the next book, in fact I think I'll do it now. ~Michelle
