Dark Taste of Rapture

Dark Taste of Rapture (Alien Huntress, #6)Dark Taste of Rapture by Gena Showalter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loved it! I got a little teary eyed, OK TRUTH.. I was weeping during Ava's wedding. Well before, during and after. How can you not? Noelle, loved her friend so much it was heart breaking. Ok now that is out in the open I can honestly say this book had me both laughing and crying. The story was fabulous, the characters were awesome and really my only complaint it that Men (Hector Dean) can be so thick at times that you just want to kick them in the ass. LOL Can't wait to see what this series brings next.

Dallas Deleted Scene from Dark Taste of Rapture (Alien Huntress, #6.1)Dallas Deleted Scene from Dark Taste of Rapture by Gena Showalter

I liked this because I didn't understand where the reference to sleeping with Noelle "destroying" him came from. That bothered me throughout the book but now I feel up to speed.

Ecstasy in Darkness (Alien Huntress, #5)Ecstasy in Darkness by Gena Showalter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This series just keeps getting more and more addictive. The first one, as I have said in the past, was dull but since then the series has taken leaps in excitement. I really wasn't sure I would care for this book. Honestly McKell seemed boring to me; but Boy was I wrong. Ava and Noelle crack me up and I have literally no idea how McKell could stand it. Great book!

Blacklisted -Gena Showalter

Blacklisted (Young Adult Alien Huntress, #2)Blacklisted by Gena Showalter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this one more than the first in this two book Teen Paranormal Series. Most likely because this one is a little more romance and a little less Paranormal... ??? I am not really sure. I can tell you had a tough time putting this one down and given that it is a Teen Fiction that is saying something. Highly recommend.

Red Handed -Gena Showalter

Red Handed (Young Adult Alien Huntress, #1)Red Handed by Gena Showalter

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It was good. I am not a huge fan of Teen Fiction so you really have to be outstanding for my interest to be peaked. That said I did like the glimpse into the recruiting and training of AIR members. The characters and story line were interesting and the scenario was reasonable. I do recommend this series to Young Adult Paranormal fans.

Lawe's Justice (Breeds, #26)Lawe's Justice by Lora Leigh

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It was okay. To be honest with you though I think I am worn out on this series. I know the drill and feel like I am almost just rereading the same story over and over again. Now I know that the overall plot is thickening but I just feel like it is going too slowly and I am getting bored waiting to find out what will happen with baby Amber. The female characters in this series also tend to be too head strong and the men too demanding. I REALLY loved this series to start but the longer it goes the less interested I become.

Guardian by Sherrilyn Kenyon

The Guardian (Dark-Hunter, #21; Dream-Hunter, #5)The Guardian by Sherrilyn Kenyon

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As always I loved this book. Sherrilyn seems to have greatly improved her Dream Hunter stories and this one combined the Were Hunters as well. I always enjoy a little Ancient Egyptian history mix so that only made the story more enjoyable to me. This one was a little on the shorter side but I think I liked that too. Overall a good story.

B.A.D. by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Diana Love

Oh what to say, what to say. When I read the first book in this series I was rolling my eyes the whole time but yet I kept going. LOL There are some series parts but mostly this action romance is fairly light hearted and silly. There aren't too many titles and the stories aren't too long. Heck why not have some post holiday fun.

Reading Order:

Born to be BAD
Phantom in the Night

Whispered Lies
BAD Attitude

Silent Truth

Playing Easy to Get

Deadly Promises

B.A.D. by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Diana Love ~ V^^^V
Bureau of American Defense series is action filled but also light. Intense stories but short enough that you are not exhausted. Basically B.A.D. doesn’t take itself too seriously. The series is based in Contemporary USA, but does travel abroad, fighting terrorists on all fronts. This is another series that is best read in order, the story progresses and the books foreshadow the next. Intense battles and high sexual tension factor in to a great read.

Alien Huntress #4 Review

Seduce the Darkness (Alien Huntress, #4)Seduce the Darkness by Gena Showalter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this one. Initially I thought I would have no interest in McKell's story but Ava definitely sold it for me. I found her personality really intriguing and the banter between her and Noelle, while most days is completely childish, made the story a little more light-hearted. I still find the Mia character's personality grating but at this point she isn't in the stories as much so that helps. The only thing that I found lacking in this book was the editing. There seemed to be quite a few spelling and grammatical errors but I managed to plow through. ;-) On to Dark Taste of Rapture, I can't believe I am almost finished with this series already.

T-Flac by Cherry Adair

Drawing hearts around this series. I just adore these. I will grant you that once she started getting into the paranormal aspect I wasn't liking it as much but after a couple books she seemed to get her groove on it and I was back to really enjoying them again. So for your really long reading order list, the best I can come up with is below. No mind you she has just started another series, which though I intend to read, I have as of yet not gotten a chance to. I am sure it will be wonderful as well.

Reading Order:
Seducing Mr. Right
The Mercenary

Kiss and Tell

Hide and Seek

In Too Deep
Out of Sight

On Thin Ice

Playing For Keeps
Hot Ice

Snowball’s Chance

Edge of Danger

Edge of Fear

Edge of Darkness
White Heat

Tropical Heat
Night Fall
Night Secrets
Night Shadow
Temptation on Ice
Black Magic

Dangerous Magic (TBA)

TFLAC by Cherry Adair ~ V^^^^V
A secret anti-terrorist organization not affiliated with any one government in particular, they work for the good of the world as a whole. Cherry Adair’s TFLAC series is non stop action with intense scenarios and explosive sexual chemistry. Most of the TFLAC books are broken out into smaller chunks, ie: the Edge Trilogy. The early books are your standard action, while in the later works, Cherry brings in a “magical” element. I have to say the first few were not really working for me in the Wizards end, but after awhile, I think she found her groove again. Stick with them. TFLAC is HOT.

Savor Me Slowly (Alien Huntress, #3)Savor Me Slowly by Gena Showalter

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

LOVED IT! This series just keeps getting better and better. I was reminded of why I disliked the first book though. It seems that I just don't care for the Mia character at all. As this one brought in some of the characters from the previous books I found that my feelings of dislike have not changed any. Other than that I just loved this book. It was one I had a hard time putting down. Onward and upward with this series, I am taking a mini break to read the 2 Teen books related to this series and then I will be back at it.

Ghostwalkers by Christine Feehan

My favorite of all her series. Again I think its how I always go back to action pack, suspenseful books. This one had all that with some romance and a smattering of paranormal what more can you as for?

Reading Order:
Shadow Game
Mind Game

Night Game

Conspiracy Game
Deadly Game

Predatory Game

Murder Game

Street Game

Ruthless Game

Ghostwalkers by Christine Feehan ~ V^^^^^V
My favorite of all the Feehan books to date. This series is about a mad scientist, basically; who takes a group of military personnel and alters their brain activity in order to make them capable of extra ordinary abilities. The experiments seem to have had not so pleasant results for many of the participants. The daughter of said scientist helps the men cope with life outside of their experimental cages. Along the way we discover there was a lot more at work than originally thought. As the series progresses the plot thickens greatly and I find myself more and more involved in unraveling the mystery of what really is going on.

SupernaturalSupernatural by Larissa Ione

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

LOVED IT! I am always game for a new Guardians of Eternity. Which did not disappoint. Secondly I am just starting to get into the Jacquelyn Frank books, and since to this point I have only read book one this anthology really worked out for me. I also have not yet started reading the Lords of Deliverance by Larissa Ione. To be honest I wasn't really in a big rush but I now I think I will move it up the to be read pile. Larissa has some highly addictive writing. So all in all, yes you should read this one.

Hit List -Laurell K. Hamilton

Hit List (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #20)Hit List by Laurell K. Hamilton

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

What to say, what to say. Well I can say that I was glad Anita actually did some work in this book versus previous books where all she did was f***.I was happy to read more about Edward and a few of his friends again. However I was really disappointed that while this book was about "Mommie Noir" there was basically no Jean Claude nor was there anything to do with Anita's many other lovers. I do enjoy reading about Micah and the like as much as Edward. To be honest I am not sure there is a way to balance that without there being far too much sex. I don't know, I guess I will read the next book but to be honest I am not going to rush out.

Liked it, I always like these. They are light reading thanks to the humor yet still have plenty of sexual tension, action and of course a likable couple. Much Ado About Vampires -Katie MacAlister

Much Ado About Vampires (Dark Ones, #9)Much Ado About Vampires by Katie MacAlister

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I am so sad to have to report that really I didn't enjoy this book. Normally I love Katie MacAlister's books but this one I just could not get into. I thave to agree with a few reviews I read here on Goodreads. Cora was just plain ditsy and annoying, her dislike of vampires made NO sense to me at all and her fairly quick 180 on the subject made her seem like she had no standards. That's not to say that Alec isn't likable, because he is. Alec seems like almost the only one with any sense in the relationship. So my dislike of the main female character aside I found the flow of the book confusing and the fact that half of the book is written in first person Cora and the other half is third person, Alec really daunting. (Seriously, I wrote it down ever time it changed... Chapters 1-3,7,10,13,16,18 are all in 3rd person and Chapters 4-6, 8-9, 11-12, 14-15, 17, 19 are all in 1st person.)

I will say that I did enjoy the catch up with previous Dark Ones characters and the addition of some of the Dragon series characters. On a few occasions I laughed at some of the jokes but overall I don't think it was enough to save this story.

Naked Werewolves Series by Molly Harper

How long has it been since I mentioned my love of all things Molly Harper? Ok well here it is, I LOVE her Naked Werewolves. Well not quite as much as I love her Jane Jameson series but none the less these books were a riot as well. So get your butt out there and purchase or reread them ASAP.

Reading Order:
How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf
The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf

Naked Werewolf Series by Molly Harper~ V^^^^^V
I am a huge Molly Harper fan. I stumbled across her Jane Jameson series at the library one day and gave it a shot. WOW, loved it, and was laughing the whole way through. Since I had so loved that series I was excited to see that she had a new one coming out. I preordered my copy of How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf and was thrilled when I received it a few days early. So about this book, Mo is a riot full of quips and quick comebacks, she was raised in a commune by hippy parents, leaving a hysterical history to read. I think some of my favorite lines are Mo’s generalizations of all werewolves. All the characters in Grundy are likeable and I found myself quickly rooting for them. The best news is we only have a little over a month wait for book 2 in the series. 2 Books to Date

Technically I only read the Alexandra Ivy short story in this anthology but I really enjoyed it. At a later date I intend to read the other stories but I have quite the list of new releases to catch up on first. That said I found it a nice change to get to now the mother of the Were quadruplets. Nauti Boy
Nauti Nights

Nauti Kisses

This complete series is from our favorite Erotica author, Lora Leigh. This series is not as heavy as some of her other actions series but it is so wonderful. True to form Lora will have to attached to her character so you are laughing and crying along with them. I may just go ahead and reread these one more time.

Nauti by Lora Leigh ~ V^^^^V
Another offshoot of Lora Leigh’s Elite Ops and Tempting SEALs, but yet quite similar to her Bound Hearts series as well. Nauti follows the Mackay boys after military and back at home life. The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice

Come now, it's a classic. This is where I got my start as an adult paranormal reader. I think everyone at some point has read at least a few of her books. Heck my favorite isn't even in the Vampire Chronicles. It's The Mummy or Ramses the Damned... check that one out if you haven't. Ok happy Tricks or Treats readers.

The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice ~ V^^^^V
The begging for me (Michelle) was Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. As a younger reader at the time, I saw the commercials for the movie and thought it looked fabulous. Followed up with the books. Have to say that the movies are NOWHERE near as good as the books (isn’t that always the way?). Anne Rice has set a standard in Vampire Fantasy novels. The Chronicles follow mainly her New Orleans vampires throughout History and introduce us to many characters. The historical interplay really captured my attention and kept me grasping for more. The later books involve scenarios best left for older readers, but I think that Young Adult Fiction fans would enjoy the first 5 of the Vampire Chronicles.

Mmmmmmm, Highlanders. They have been sworn to protect the world from evil for all time. The Masters of Time series contains the Rose Trilogy and can be a bit confusing. The Highlanders travel back and forth through time and all characters interplay at various times, thus making things a bit confusing. That said, the characters are extremely interesting, the interplay is fun, the relationships are explosive and the romance is heartwarming. I would recommend it, but best read in order.

DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY! I am glad that the story is taking on a bit more than just sex though. While a little erotica is good every now and then I need some substance to keep me coming back. That said this series requires that I take a break ever couple of books for a month or so.

I love Sherrilyn Kenyon! LOL Honestly the Dream Hunters have never really been that great to me but I was hooked by this one. I am not sure if it was the interaction of some of the key characters or if it was just main characters was just that likable. At any rate I actually really liked this one. I have read reviews stating that there are too many theologies at work in this series and that the character list is just too long but I disagree. Sherrilyn has made her world very believable and covered all the details without beating the information into your head repeatedly. The story keeps getting better.

Will review the whole series here.

Overall I found these to be very addictive. Once I started Slave to Sensation, I was hooked. Initially it is a lot to wrap your mind around; changelings are fairly common but the Psy are a whole new creature to understand. The writing was totally engrossing and the stories compelling. I actually liked some of the short stories more though for the simple fact there was a little less logistics and more romance. That is not to say that the full length books are not worth reading because they are. This is going into the top recommendation pile.
